Halloween Retrospective

Halloween was a pretty low-key affair. Rev and I went to my mom's house, where we ate some chili n' cheese. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Lucky me - I've still got some leftovers in my fridge for dinner tonight. Rev was an absolute peach, and allowed me to wrangle her into her pink flamingo costume without a fuss. She even kept her hood on all night too.
We played it safe, and only stopped at three neighbors' houses. At our first stop, right next door, she knocked on the door. When it was opened, instead of remaining politely on the doorstep, she ran inside and proceeded to try to escape up their staircase. These were old family friends, so they just chuckled and let me chase after her.
There was no candy-eating for Rev in the evening, because she'd been two-fisted into the treats given by her daycare's cul-de-sac romp earlier in the day. Her poor little tummy was upset and she had that rashy stealth diarrhea twice in the evening! I did get a couple of great pics courtesy of grandma.

NaBloPoMo Day #1

I love to read blogs, and I love to imagine what you guys would have to say about all my minor crises and celebrations. If you look at my history, it seems that I'll post every once in a while - heck, this time last year I posted fairly regularly - but I lose steam after a while.
To reintroduce myself, I'm a single mom in the Portland, Oregon, area. My daughter Rev is a major focus in my life, obviously, and I'm readjusting to the single life. Rev is almost 18 months old, and I split up with her dad in June.
Other than spending time with her, I work full time, and I've been trying to reconnect with my old friends when she's at her dad's house. So far our schedules are working out fine, and Rev gets to see Nos two nights a week. I swear, this single mom thing is WAY easier than the married mom thing. Now if only I could get the divorce paperwork done...
Coming up this month: Halloween photos, Nos's new girlfriend, my fledgling love life, Rev cuteness, too much drinking, kids & television, a new hire at work, and much, much more. Enjoy!
