Impossibly Positive

I may have mentioned yesterday that Rev is crawling. Maybe that's an understatement. It all started about a month ago, when I noticed that she was on her hands and knees rocking her butt forward and back. That movement quickly sped up, and I heard many, "Uh oh, you're in trouble," comments. On her six-month birthday, November 13th, she did it for real. Just two or three hand-foot hand-foot combinations, mind you, but it was definitely some coordination that we hadn't seen before.
And now?
Oy.
Just in the last week, this kid has taken off. Our hang out place used to be on a play mat in the living room carpet in front of the TV, but I think she's over it. She doesn't want to be anywhere near the tile floor, and God forbid mommy wants to do anything but pay attention! We've decided to hole up in her bedroom, where toys abound, but the most interesting things by far are a film-wrapped package of wipes (CostCo/Sam's Club) and a small empty cardboard box.
Tonight I saw a new trick. When I picked her up from grandma's, she had learned the art of the pull-up. Not only did she get excited when she saw me (so gratifying) but she crawled her way over, and proceeded to make herself comfortable in my lap. Wow. She'd never gone beyond the horizontal plane before, and now she's all over the place.
Rev has always been a fantastic sleeper, since age 3 mos, at least, but in the last week she hates bedtime. I think it's because there's so much more to discover, and she doesn't want to stop. I'm hoping the difficulty stems from her change of scenery over the holiday and she'll go back to normal, but I'm afraid it's permanent. No one can be lucky forever, right?
