Antibi-argh-tics

I got prescribed some icky antibiotics by my doctor today. Side effects include seizures, vomiting, and other such pleasant things. Lucky, lucky me!
I can't drink even a sip of alcohol for the next ten days. Apparently I can't even, you know, SMELL it, as hairspray or perfume will result in copious amounts of vomit just as well as a half-bottle of Jager. On the bright side, my New Year's resolution to drink less just got much easier! My poor half-drunk bottle of red wine in the cupboard will have to be donated to my roommate. Waah!

Bad Library Karma

Rev and I have developed a tradition of heading to the local public library every Tuesday evening for their half-hour story time - one of the very few events for little kids scheduled for those of us moms who work for a living during normal business hours. She absolutely loves it. We follow story time with an hour in the kids section where she plays with a dollhouse and graciously shares with the other kiddos, and by the time we head home, it's bedtime.
Last time we went was two weeks ago, right before the "What Christmas Plans?" storm of '08 got really bad, and there were only three other families there compared to the typical twenty or more. Rev was about 90% good pee-wise in the whole potty training situation, and silly me, I let her head straight to the play area after story time without detouring to the restroom. We were only there for about 10 minutes when she got a funny look on her face. I knew what the problem was right then and there, but there was no time to respond because the deed was done. She peed on the little wooden play bench in front of the dollhouse and I admit that I panicked. There was absolutely no one else in there - no one to guard the chair while I cleaned her up and then returned to mop up her pee, no one to watch her for a minute while I grabbed clean clothes out of the car, and... no one to watch me as I turned the bench upside down, rubbed it dry against the carpet, and rushed quickly from the scene of the crime and out the library doors.
Now I'm afraid to go back!
